DHC Acne Spot Therapy

I hadthis horrible breakout during the exam period and the dumb fat pimple just doesn't seem to be going away at all. Its one of those annoying headless pimple. Anyway, my pimple cream from the doc ain't helping much so I'm seeking help elsewhere.. mainly from DHC (: bought their Acne Spot Therapy (S$20.90) and the nice salesgirl gave me loads of samples!! I love it when they're really generous with samples, kinda like those at Fancl. Have been reading pretty positive reviews about this Acne Spot Therapy and Acne Whitening Gel but I didn't get the latter mainly cos its pretty expensive at S$40+ and I'm not too sure how my skin will react to it since I am quite acne prone.

The difference between the 2 pimple cream will be that Acne Spot Therapy is used to conquer new pimples which will help greatly in healing it and the Acne Whitening Gel is used on the entire face to not only help whiten new acne scars but also to prevent acne. The SA also gave me samples of Salicylic Face Milk (moisturiser) and Facial Scrub and reminded me that they should not be used on pimples.

I find the SA at Ngee Ann City Watsons to be quite helpful, not pushy and extremely generous with samples. If these work, I will wanna try the Acerola Gel.

Renew Rose Hip Oil

Got my 25ml Renew Rose Hip Oil last weekend at Unity, it is available at Watsons and Guardian as well. I wanted to get just the RHO but there was a bundled promotion along with tht Hydrating Mist Toner for around S$30.

RHO are said to be fantastic for healing scars, moisturizing dry skin and eczema. But for acne prone skin, be warned that RHO may cause breakouts. I almost tried it on my face when I read the reviews about the warning of breakouts in Cozycot (my FAVE forum) so I decided to try it on these couple of insect bites on my leg.
I use about a drop on the insect bitten scars in the morning and about 3 drops + body lotion per leg at night. It has been 3 days, I can't say there is absolutely no difference in the markings from the first day, they do seem a tad lighter but I believe it will be quite a gradual process. I read that vast improvements were seen from some cotters in just a couple of days but again, everyone's skin is different and reacts differently (: guess I got to be a bit patient. Will try it on my acne scar once they heal.

Everyday Minerals, Soaps, Lotion and Perfume :D

woah!! just received 2 packages in the mail this noon! The Everyday Minerals (EDM) Josh Flagg Collection and the soap + body lotion + roll on perfume from Tendigitcreations. Exciteeddd ^^

Note the beautiful wrapping. This collection consists of the 5 eye shadows, 1 pressed blush, 1 face powder, an eye kabuki Jr. brush and baby bamboo flat top brush. Also, I ordered the eye blending brush, a lipstick and eyeshadow (got 'em for free after I keyed in this promo code) and with each order, we can throw in a sample kit for free.

Now these.. are actually part of the birthday gift I'm giving to my dad :) He's a great fan of Sandalwood scent and I thought of collecting a bunch of sandalwood scented products for him. He used to use this soap that was manufactured in England and it had this STRONG but pleasant sandalwood scent, yea. It's discontinued. That's why I'm looking for other alternatives for him and I chanced upon Tendigitcreations owned by Amber and Ken. I ordered their Gardenia roll on perfume, Antique Sandalwood cold process soap and Antique Sandalwood body lotion. Well, obviously I haven't try the soap since it is meant as a gift so I'll wait for my dad to try it and give me his comments.
But one thing I noticed when I opened the package was the lack of sandalwood scent (the same thing that I noticed when I opened the other package from Sherri's Scents and Soys). With comparison to the soap that my dad used, I couldn't detect a hint of ANY scent when I opened them up unlike my dad's soap which when opened up, will have the room completely engulfed in sandalwood.
Anyway, I tried a wee bit of the body lotion and the roll on perfume :p The Antique Sandalwood Body Lotion is packed with Jojoba oil and Shea butter which helps make the skin extremely smooth and the scent was extremely soothing.. kinda like aromatherapy. To be frank, the sandalwood scent isn't very strong and sadly, it wasn't what I'm looking for (yes, I'm looking for one with an extremely strong sandalwood scent). But nonetheless, it smells really good too and I wouldn't mind repurchasing it again :) The following is the description of the scent taken from the site:
Antique Sandalwood - a woody, musky heart made from sustainably harvested sandalwood and cedarwood essential oils, softened with subtle notes of violet and jasmine

The Gardenia roll on perfume is actually a Spring/Summer collection and will only be available from March to August. I rolled on a wee bit on my wrist at 1pm, now its almost 6.30pm and it has faded off but if I put my nose really close up to my wrists, I can still smell a tinge of it. Guess the staying power is around 3 hours. I've always like the scent of Gardenia. There, the description:
Gardenia - a floral blend of gardenia and jasmine with a strong orange flavor bottom note

The two soaps at the bottom are what I ordered and the packet with 2 mini tubes of perfume and blue/green soap beside it are free gifts!! :D how sweet of Sherri from Sherri's Scents and Soys. Thank you! Look at her intricate packaging that even has a little sun charm. I'm so gonna use them on my hoop earrings. Lol! Uh.. I just realized I missed out the Ylang Ylang soap when I was I taking the photos. Will add in later!

I chose the Indonesian Teak soap and had her customized another glycerin soap in a straight sandalwood scent. The blue/green soap that she sent as a gift is also sandalwood scented but with a mix of Nag Champa and vanilla. I was quite disappointed when I was unable to detect any sandalwood scent which my dad agrees cos he had already tried the blue/green one. Anyway, I've contacted Sherri and hope she can help me out with this as I strongly believe that there must be something wrong since she has hundreds of wonderful feedback from her customers.

As for the two fragrance (Tiare Blossom and Bamboo) samples, I've not yet try them.

mixed feelings :D

yea i know i know i know.. I've probably a 101 different blog address. This was created out of extreme boredom while trying out example questions for my upcoming exams. rawrrrrrr!!

At least I'm pretty excited cos I got a super fantastic surprise when I woke up and open my inbox!!
Everyday Minerals emailed me to inform me that I've won Ballet Slippers, Lip Lock and Pink Flowers from the entry that I entered like.. almost a week ago? :) They give out really nice prizes every week Mon - Fri in their Fan Club so you should go try it out too. I was hoping to win something else from the Wed contest instead since I get a feeling that Ballet Slippers won't suit me (and I'll probably pass it on to someone else). Anyway, this is my first time entering plus I've never won anything from any contests or whatsoever and that pretty much explains why this truly made my day (amidst all the notes and textbooks that are drowning me).

And also, a little something to look forward to.. LOADS of goodies from Korea that I'm expecting my aunt iris to bring back for me from her trip! Hope she will manage to get hold of every single thing in my urber long shopping list. Have been trying out the tons of samples I got from Korea during my trip in December. They're really generous in giving out samples unlike most of the SAs here. So I tried out the highly raved Skinfood's Peach Sake Pore Serum, Lettuce & Cucumber Water Drop Essence samples and Etude's Precious Mineral BB Cream #2.

You can check out the Lettuce & Cucumber series here and the Peach Sake series here! So far the two samples that I tried gave me a rather good impression of the series so almost the entire of both series are included in the list. Will tell you why later~

ugh! ok. I guess it's back to the books. Meeting the girls later for a discussion (:
